Barclay Bryan Press is happy to consider the work of unagented writers, including those who've never published before, as well as of seasoned authors. Please note that the manuscripts we're reading now fall into the categories of children's picture books, mid-level readers' books, and young adult books -- in all genres -- as well as nonfiction for adults. If you'd like to submit a manuscript, please start by sending us a query letter containing a brief description of your project, full contact information, who you consider your audience to be, and anything special you feel we should know about your background, writing experience, or marketing ideas. If you're writing for children, please don't worry about including an illustrator's work. We tend to accept manuscripts based on the story and the writing, and match books up to artists we feel would be a good fit.

Are you an artist? We're always on the lookout for outstanding new illustrators willing to work on spec (for future royalties, that is, rather than a flat fee).  Please contact us at editors@barclaybryan.com and tell us about yourself (attaching a piece or two of sample artwork as a .pdf or .jpg file), or mail some representative artwork to Editors, Barclay Bryan Press, PO Box 409, Port Republic, MD 20676.
